They convince the ghost to leave the house. In the end Jack and Dean join Lucy in the ghost fighting corporation.

Characterisation
Jack is the sensible character he owns the flat and is the only one that has a job. Jack originally doesn't   believe that the ghost is real. He is also the person that tries to reason with the ghost. As a character he is the one that the audience will relate to the most. In the first scene Jack is wearing a suit and tie this connotes that he is professional and has a job. Dean his flat mate. is the comedy best friend character. He comes off very lazy and the but of the jokes. In the first scene Dean is in a dressing gown this connotes that he has been at home all day and is lazy. Dean also creates a lot of the jokes in the film. Lucy comes off as a very confident character. She knows how to scam people and get away with it this connotes that she is intelligent. This confidence makes Jack and Deal believe that she is able to get rid of ghosts.

Mise-en-scene
At the start there is a long shot of all the items around the house moving or falling off and breaking and creating a lot of mess. This connotes that there is something supernatural in the house. The next scene is a family sitting round  table holding hands with candles in the middle. This connotes that there is a seance going on. Also that Lucy conducting the seance will be able to help Jack and Dean. There is a figure watching Lucy, Jack and Dean when the first meet up. This connotes that they are being watched for a reason at something bad may happen. The sinister music helps to connote this. When Dean meets Detective Stroke in the tube station. No one else is there this connotes that something bad may happen and that Dean my be in danger.

Script
In the script Lucy is very confident and cocky. She likes making fun of Jack and Dean because she assumes that they are idiots that believe in the supernatural. Also Dean comes across very idiotic in the script. This is by him messing up sudoku and seppuku throughout the film. Also he suggests things that are instantly shut down. Dean also focuses on Lucy's branding and trying to find out that she's a fraud. Also he should be going undercover but he tells jack about  the Detective which he's not supposed to do. From the script is is clear that Jack likes Lucy and wants to come across likeable. He talks a lot about not being alone to reassure her. This comes across vey comedic and desperate.

Camera work
There are a lot of camera angles form the vases perspective, this is to show the audience what the vase is seeing. There are also some over the shoulder shots to give the audience a feeling as if they are there. Another common shot is a mid shot, this enables the audience to see the characters interact together. Also there is a long first shot which is 26 seconds long. This shows all the havoc around the house. This sets the film for the audience so they immediately understand that the film is about the supernatural.

Editing
Whenever there is a shot of the vase there is a filter and a bulge effect. In the shots from the vases perspective the sound is muffled to indicate that the vase can't hear clearly. It also shows to the audience what the vase is hearing. There is also sinister music put in when the detective is following Dean. This is to build suspense but the detective is in fact trying to help Dean.

Production value
The production value for this short film is high. This is because all the objects in the room that fly off are put back in the next scene of the house. Also the actors have different clothes on for different days. This also helps with showing it is a different day. Also the vase stays in the same place throughout the film.

LO1 The Tea Chronicles Analysis

Narrative
The narrative is that Charlie gets a new roommate. Khyan insists on making cups of tea for Charlie day in day out. As the film progresses Khyan becomes increasingly creepier by always offering tea. From this Charlie starts to have hallucinations about tea. These affect this life as he almost turns insane. This is shown from him whispering to himself and imagining himself as a tea bag as Khyan makes a  cup of tea out of himself and he has many different weird hallucinations like this. Then we find out that its the sugar that is causing these. The sugar is some sort of drug. Charlie and Khyan make amends and the issue is resolved. Then at the end Charlie makes a cup of tea for Khyan and he declines it.

Characterisation
The character Khyan comes very creepy and slightly freighting. This is because of his keen interest in Charlie and tea. He is ver obsessive in making him the tea. T he massive grins Khyan gives off when Charlie drinks the tea. Connote that he is unstable. The character Chris plays the stereotypical character of the comedic best friend. He is completely oblivious to what is going on and creates the jokes. The character Chris juxtaposes with the character of Charlie's girlfriend Jenny. Both of the characters are close to Charlie. Jenny sees the seriousness of the situation but Chris accidentally makes the situation worse. Jenny seems to be the only sane character in the film as she has the most normal reaction to what is happening. she is the character that people will relate to the most. The audience will have the most sympathy for Charlie because he is going though the whole ordeal.

Mise-en-scene
When Khyan first moves in there is a chart of what each of the housemates have in their tea. This connotes that they all drink tea often and like it. This also connotes that Chris and Charlie live in the house. Also when Khyan finds the sugar in the back of the cupboard, very sinister music plays and the bag is frayed and has a old warn look to it.  Also the music plays when Khyan stirs in the sugar This connotes that the sugar is not safe. When Khyan is taking items out of boxes this connotes that his is moving in by putting his personal belongings in the house. Also when Charlie stares into the tea and sinister music plays this connotes that he really isn't well. Then it cuts to the scene of Charlie as a tea bag which connotes he is having hallucinations.

Script
The script for the film adds to the increase in Khyan becoming crazy. This is done by him constantly asking if he liked his tea and if he wants any. Tea is all Khyan speaks about in the film this connotes his obsession. Through the script we see that Charlie is drinking the tea out of politeness and he doesn't actually enjoy the tea Khyan make and Khyan makes terrible tea.

Camera work
There is a really interesting shot where Charlie, Khyan and Chris are all in shot. Chris is the furthest away then Khyan is in the middle and Charlie is the closest to the camera. Instead of the character having a close up when they are talking in this scene the camera focuses on the character. This makes for an interesting shot because you can see the rest of the characters reaction. Then as Charlie is deteriorating there is a shot of Jenny, Chris and Khyan stood over Charlie. The lighting is low and it created a sinister atmosphere. There is a shot of the camera zooming into a cup of tea. This introduces the scene of Charlie being the tea bag. This has a high angle. Also there is a lot of shots with a shallow depth of field. There is also a lot for shot reverse shot.

Editing
They use a green screen for Charlie in the tea bag to look like he is suspended in the air. Also there is a scene where Khyan is in Charlie's bed but he has Charlie's girlfriends voice. This was edited to make Charlie look like he is going insane. The audience hear the music that Charlie is listening to, then when Charlie takes off his headphones that music dims down. This makes the audience experience the same thing as Charlie. When Charlie is looking down at the cups of tea there is a image of Khyan edited into every cup of tea. This is also one to make Charlie seem like he is going crazy. There is sinister music put in when the film turns dark. An example of this is when Khyan first arrives at the house. The sinister music connotes that Khyan trouble to the audience

Production value
The production value of the film is quite high. One of the reasons it is is because all the characters wear different clothes when it is a new day. Also when charlie is in bed he wears pyjamas that fit with the scene. The layout of the house doesn't change. Also the bedding on the bed doesn't change. The music that conveys a certain emotion in the film stays the same. This overall makes the production value high.

LO1 Septem Analysis

Narrative
The narrative for this short film is that its a game show where people choose to go in a room. There is a pill on the table the pill is poison. One of the people at the table has to take the pill and all the others win a share of 15 million pounds. If no one takes the pill all the people in the room will die. The time limit is 25 minuets. Obviously with the pressured   situation Throughout the play there is lots of arguments and in the end one of the characters takes the pill but it turns out that the pill is actually an antidote. This plot twist comes 4 minutes till the end. This makes it a big surprise for the audience.

Characterisation
All the characters are very distinct and quite in depth. This means an audience can relate to at least one of the characters. The characters also fill stereotypes. But the stereotypes are challenged in some of the characters. This is shown through the interactions between them. This gives them more realism. Also the audience are able to see the characters develop as they revel more about themselves. It shows the audience how different people cope under the pressured situation.

Mise-en-scene
There is only one location throughout the film. The film denotes a dinner table with food and drink this connotes that they are at a dinner party. Although at the very end you hear clapping and see bright lights this connotes that they are on a stage and that a live audience has been watching them. The character Trevor is wearing a shirt and tie. This connotes that he is a profession and this fits his character. The character Abby has messy hair and talks with her moth open. This connotes that she doesn't really pay attention to her looks, it also connotes that she lives alone.

Script
There is a lot of dialogue, this allows the story to move on and develop. In the story they talk about who they are and this gives the other characters and the audience and opportunity to understand the characters better. As the characters interact more the tension of the room increases as the timer runs down. The dialogue gets increasing aggressive and the story goes on.

Camera work
All of the camera work is handheld. This makes the audience feel as if they are part of it. There are close ups to show their facial expressions and their emotions. There is also a shot for every character in which they are either eating the food or drinking what has been provided. This is important because the food and drink has poison in it. So the audience need to see that all of the characters have consumed the poison as to why they die.

Editing
There is a cut around every 5 seconds, this gives the audience a fresh view on the characters. When a character is talking the shots go from that character and the other characters reaction. As Jonathan takes the pill, violins start to play. This connotes the sadness of Jonathan taking the pill. But as the other characters start to die the music turns more sinister. This is because this scene is the cliff hanger of the narrative. The music adds to the atmosphere. Then as the audience is revealed there is loud cheering. This connotes that an audience watched the scene. Then the camera fades to white from the bight lights of the crowd. There is also sinister music in the first 26 seconds. This creates the atmosphere for the short film. The music at the start connotes that something bad will take place in the film. There is very little music in the film. This is because the silence creates a very tense atmosphere.

Production value
This production value is high. All the character stay in their costumes. The verisimilitude of the location is created by the location staying the same and the bowls and plates staying in the place that the character has moved them too. Also the characters tone and accents are consistent throughout. The amount of food goes down as the characters eat it, this adds to the production value.
